Description

(‘Robert Macaire philantropist’). This plate depicts Daumier’s fictional character Macaire with his arm around his sidekick Bertrand after painting the wall advertisment for the Société du Clystère.

Condition: Good, given age. Some soiling in the margin edges, a few stains in the image. Faint ghosting around the image (from previous matting). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
