Contemporary half leather, spine gilt decorated and lettered.
The second edition of the famous atlas of views of Amsterdam, in a single volume. The plates in this edition are reworked, but basically the same as the first edition. The plate which is titled “Het Werkhuis” in the first edition is now entitled: “‘t Kweekschool voor de zeevaart”. The image of this plate is a reworking of the image in the first edition, changing the exterior of the building in question but very little besides.

Pierre Fouquet Jr. (1729-1800) was an artist and art dealer in Amsterdam.

Cover condition: good: spine rubbed, a 4 cm. split to the tail of the spine, corners lightly worn, board edges and boards rubbed.
Inside condition: very good: general age-related toning, occasional dampstain, light intermittent foxing throughout.
