Sheet size: 37,8 x 27,6 cm. Image size: 32 x 23,5 cm.

From: ‘Details des nouveaux jardins a la mode.’ (Details from new popular gardens.), published by Georges-Louis Le Rouge, Paris, 1773-1789. Starting in 1773 Le Rouge published these plans and sketches of gardens, particularly of the then new English gardens and Anglo-Chinese gardens. 492 Engravings were published in 21 parts (cahiers), the last published in 1789.

Made by an anonymous engraver after Georges-Louis Le Rouge. Publisher: Georges-Louis le Rouge (1707-1790) was a French military engineer, hydrographer and cartographer. He mostly produced a wide rang of attractive cartographic work. He held a position of Geographical Engineer to King Louis XV.

Condition: Very good, given age. A few tiny spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
