Subject: Antique print, titled: ‘Quaed voor Teken. – Malum Praesagium.’ – (Evil omen.) The bossy wife. The text below, in Dutch, speaks of the Hen playing the Rooster and ‘Wanneer de vrou den Broeck begeert / Zoo is het Gantsche huijs onteert’ (‘When the wife desires to wear the pants / the whole household goes awry’).
Condition: Very good, given age. Full margins, some browning. Left margin a little uneven, a small stain in the lower margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
