Jean-Pierre Norblin de La Gourdaine (15 July 1745 in Misy-sur-Yonne – 23 February 1830 in Paris) was a French painter, draughtsman and graphic artist, from 1772 he was in the service of the Czartoryski family, in the years 1774–1804 he was active in Poland; one of the most important painters of the Stanislavian period, considered the father of Polish genre painting. He was heavily influenced by Rembrandt. Henryk [Heinrich/Henri] Daniel Nether (1760-1819) and Michal Plonski (Polish, 1778-1812) were some of his pupils.
