Plate: Neotropische Fauna (Neotropic Fauna). This plate shows the Neoptropic Fauna, including some animals like the Jaguar, Toucan, Anteater, Condor, Lama and a Vampire bat. This original print originates from the sixth edition of Meyers’ Konversationslexikon. This famous German encyclopedia was published 1902-1920. The same prints were used for similar publications, such as Brockhaus’ encyclopedia, and the Dutch encyclopedias of Oosthoek and Winkler Prins.Artists and Engravers: The original founder and publisher who initiated this famous enxyclopedia was Joseph Meyer (1796-1856, Hildburghausen, Germany).
Condition: Fine, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional light staining from handling. Please study scan carefully.
