Medium: Etching / engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: fragment of coat of arms.

Sheet size: 13 x 21.5 cm (5.12 x 8.46 inch). Image size: 10 x 7.8 cm. (3.94 x 3.07 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. Edges of paper browned. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

From: ‘De Nederlandsche Stad-Dorp-Beschrijver […]’, by Ollefen & Bakker, published by H.A. Banse, 1793.

Biography engraver: Johan Christoffel Schultsz (1749-1812) was a Dutch landscape painterm draughtman and etcher. Anna Catharina Brouwer (1772-) was a Dutch draugsman and engraver/etcher from Amsterdam. She pas probably the daughter of Cornelis Brouwer (c.1733-1803) and Johanna Vogelijn.

Biography artist: Author: Lieve van Ollefen (1749-1816) and R. Bakker (from vol. 5).
