Antique print, titled: ”In de Vughterstraat.” – A view of the Vughtersteet in Den Bsoch while flooded. People navigate the watery streets in carts, while others carry the elderly. Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘J. Walter’ after ‘Henri Gastl (?)’. J. Walter (1839-1895) was a Swiss-born wood engraver. From 1890 until his death in 1895 he was the head of the graphic department of printing house Enschede. Henri Gastl (active 1860-1875) was a French (?) illustrator.
Condition: Good, given age. Some stains, mostly in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
