This antique print originates from: ‘La Guienne historique et monumentale.’, by Alexandre Ducourneau, published in Bordeaux by P. Coudert, France, 1842. This is the most ambitious decription of the French Gironde region from the first half of the 19th. c.Artists and Engravers: Alexandre Ducourneau was a young journalist at the time from Agen. The lithographs were made in Bordeaux (Chauve, Lege, Faucher) or Paris workshops (Lemercier ou Desportes) by several artists amongst whom: Leo Drouyn, Jules Philippe and Frederic d’Andiran. This plate by J. Desportes.

Condition: Good. General age related toning. Some small tears in the margins not affecting the image. Mild browning in lower right corner, removable.
