From “Castella Brabantia…” by Le Roy, published in 1690.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Jacobus Harrewijn’ after ‘Adriaan Frans Boudewyns’. Jacobus Harrewijn (1660-1727): Dutch engraver and etcher of topographical and decorative prints. Born in Amsterdam, died in Brussels. He was a scholar of the famous Romeyn de Hooghe. Married in Amsterdam in 1683. He became a master in the guild in Brussel Adriaan Frans Boudewyns, (Bauduins, or Baudouin, 1644-1719) was a Flemish Baroque landscape painter. Besides painting, Boudewijns devoted a lot of his time to engraving. His plates are chiefly after the pictures or designs of Van der Meulen, and are etched in a bold, free style.
Condition: Good, given age. Ample margins, central fold. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
