From: ‘Reize naar de Oost-en Westkust van Zuid-Amerika ? 1826 ? met het Koopvaardijschip Wilhelmina en Maria.’, by J. Boelen, published in 1835 by Ten Brink & de Vries in Amsterdam.

Made by ‘D. Sluyter’ after ‘A. & B. Geb. S. ‘. Dirk Jurriaan Sluyter (1811-1886) was a Dutch etcher, engraver and draughtsman. Jacobus Boelen Jhz. (1791-1876) was a decorated marine officer most of his life in French and Dutch service. During a leaf of absence he undertook some large voyages on a merchant ship and recorded these in the described work.

Condition: Fair, given age. Overall waterstaining, which we can remove on request. Some small holes at left margin from binding. Small blue stain at bottom right. Paper edges browned. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
