BACKGROUND INFORMATION

From De Hondt’s ‘Taferelen der voornaamste geschiedenissen van het Nieuwe Testament’, published in 1728 in The Hague by Pieter de Hondt, The Netherlands.

Biography engraver: Philip can Gunst (active 1719-1730 in Amsterdam) was an engraver/etcher, possibly a son and student of Pieter can Gunst.

Biography artist: Pieter de Hondt, Dutch publisher and bookseller (1696–1764).
