Antique print, titled: ‘Sacrae Historiae Acta …’ – Title page for the described work. It shows a central figure holding a scroll with the titled, flanked by two putti bearing a garland and a board with the dedication. “Sacrae historiae acta a Raphaele Urbin. in Vaticanis xystis ad picturae miraculum expressa Nicolaus Chapron”, first published in Rome, 1649. This work contains plates engraved after Raphael’s Vatican murals.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Nicolas Chapron’ after an anonymous artist. The engraver of this work is Nicolas Chapron / Chaperon, French (1612-1656), designed after the Vatican murals by Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520). The publisher of this edition is Pierre Mariette (1634-1716).
