Antique print, titled: ‘De Waterramp van 1855. […]’ – This frontispiece shows the 1855 flood disaster. From: ‘De Waterramp van 1855. Geschetst in 24 afbeeldingen & naar de natuur geteekend en geetst door leden der Maatschappij Arte et Amicitiae.’, published in 1855. This collection of etchings was published by this Amsterdam Art Society in support of the flooding disaster of 1855 in the Netherlands. We also carry the complete set. Please inquire if interested.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Ch. Rochussen’ after ‘H.A. van Trigt’. Charles Rochussen (1814-1894) was a reknown Dutch painter, watercolorist etcher and lithographer of history and military scenes from The Hague.
Condition: Good, given age. Some small stains in margin. Stamp on reverse. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
