Made by ‘Jan Caspar Philips’ after an anonymous artist. Jan Caspar Philips (1690-1775) was an engraver. He was born in Germany, but settled in Amsterdam in 1736, where he became the teacher of his nephew Caspar Philips Jacobsz. (1732-1789) and (in 1725), the engraver Simon Fokke.

Condition: Good, given age. Some staining at top. Remains of glue on rear from previous attachment on rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
