Made by Lemercier after Amedeo Preziosi or Preciosi (1816-1882), a painter from Malta. Amadeo studied under Giuseppe Hyzler and completed his art education at the Paris Academy of Fine Arts. He moved to Constantinople in 1842 and produced views of the city, genre and costume drawings and became court painter to Sultan Abdul Hamid II. He travelled to Egypt in 1862.

Condition: Good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
