Made by ‘Gustave May’ after ‘Fridolin Leiber’. Published by Ed. Gust. May in Frankfurt, Germany The firm Eduard Gustav May (later May & Wirsing and E. G. May Söhne) was an Art Publisher from 1845-1914 in Frankfurt, Germany and one of the leading producers of popular prints. Fridolin Leiber (1853 in Niedereschach – 1912 in Frankfurt) was a German painter who produced a number of popular religious prints. He worked for art publisher Edward Gustav May in Frankfurt and his first works for May were depictions of saints.

Condition: Good, given age. good, paper glued to board, with frame and behind glass, text of the poster in lower part missing, in the right and lower part some holes, tears, in the right upper corner hole, in the air two lighter spots, reverse of frame remains of soiling not visible in the front. Frame not included. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
