‘Spiraea Crenata, 10.’

Etching wiht original hand colouring on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 20 x 26 cm. (7,9 x 10,2 inch). Image size: 17,5 x 23,5 cm. (6,9 x 9,3 inch).

This attractive print was pyblished by K.L. Wildenow in Hortus Berolinensis from 1803-1816. This was page 10 from the book.

Made by ‘Friedrich Guimpel’ after ‘K.L. Wildenow’. Friedrich Guimpel (1774-1839) was engraver, botanical illustrator, artist and professor at the Berlin Academy of Arts.

Condition: Good, given age. Some stains in lower right corner because of turning pages from the book, brown spot in upper margin and lower right corner, crease in upper left corner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
