Antique print, titled: ‘Breda …’ – A plan of the situation of the combating forces at the end of the Siege of Breda (1624) during the Eighty Years’ War. It shows the fortifications around the city and the locations of various camps. This print originates from the 1629 latin ed. of Herman Hugo’s ‘Obsidis Bredana, sub Ambrosio Spinola’, first published in Antwerp in 1626. English ed. in 1627. This is an eye-witness account of the ten-month siege of the fortress of Breda in 1625 by Spanish forces led by Spinola.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous.

Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. Some small stains, mainly in the margin.   General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
