Medium: engraving/etching with faded and missing hand colouring, probably due to cleaning/restoration. on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 48 x 32.5 cm (18.9 x 12.8 inch). Image size: 40 x 25 cm. (15.75 x 9.84 inch).
Condition: good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Original antique print published in Paris ca. 1770. This is an optical print, also called ‘vue optique’ or ‘vue d’optique’, which were made to be viewed through a Zograscope, or other devices of convex lens and mirrors, all of which produced an optical illusion of depth.
