This series of 263 bird prints in 9 volumes is part of the large 38 volume: ?Histoire naturelle, generale et particuliere ? nouvelle ed., published by J. Schneider 1766-1799.

Made by ‘Abraham Jacobsz Hulk’ after ‘Jacques de Seve’. Abraham Jacobsz Hulk (1751-c.1817), engraver. Georges-Louis Le Clerc, Comte de Buffon (September 7, 1707 – April 16, 1788). French naturalist, mathematician, biologist, cosmologist and author. Buffon’s views influenced the next two generations of naturalists, including Jean-Baptiste Lamarck and Charles Darwin. Jacques de Seve (active 1744-1788), artist.

Condition: Very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
