Plate: ‘De olijfgroene zaagschelp.- Het zaagje.- De gewone hoornschaal.- De gevlekte venusschelp.’ (Misc.shells.) This plate shows several kind of shells: olive green saw shell, spotted venus-shell. This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: ‘De Dieren, afgebeeld, beschreven en in hunne levenswijze geschetst.’ (Translation: The Animals, illustrated and described in their features and in their way of living.), by L.A.J. Burgersdijk, 1864. Artists and Engravers: The author of thia work is Leendert Alexander Johannes Burgersdijk (1828-1900) was a Dutch Biologist and translator. He is known for his encyclopedia’s on plants and animals.
Condition: Fine. General age related toning and occasional light staining from handling as visible on image.
