Das Schonbartlaufen – Properly ‘Schembartlaufen’, masquerades held in the streets of Nuremberg by the butchers’ guild between 1348 and 1539, described in a poem by Hans Sachs. It shows a parade in progress, with an elephant and several mopunted characters handing out sweets to the bystanders and children.

Munchener Bilder-Bogen 1063, published 1893. This was a series of broadsheets published biweekly from 1848 until 1898 by Braun und Schneider.
