Antique print, titled: ‘Moyland.’ – Moyland Castle is a moated castle in Bedburg-Hau in the district of Kleve. Text sheet included. From the collection of Alexander Duncker. A high point in his output was a graphic collection of Prussian castles under the title, “The rural residences, palaces and residences of the Prussian nobility” with colorful illustrations and accompanying text appearing between 1857-1883. The series in 16 volumes included 960 color lithographs. The collection is especially valuable for its pictorial record of numerous stately buildings from the old eastern German lands, many of which were destroyed during and after World War II when these regions were transferred to Poland and the Soviet Union. Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Th. Hartmann’ after ‘H. Deiters’.
Condition: Very good, given age. Print without margins, attached to the original carrier sheet. Carrier with a few stains in the margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
