Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 40 x 29 cm. The image size is ca. 39 x 29 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 15.7 x 11.4 inch. The image size is ca. 15.4 x 11.4 inch.
This original print shows: the Saint Andre-de-Cubzac bridge over the Dordogne River in France. And the activity around the base of a long bridge spanning a river. Below the image is a technical side view of the bridge. Some resources consider this one of the most fanciful bridges ever built. It was destroyed in a storm in 1869 and rebuilt into a different style bridge. Source unknown, to be determined. German publication from 1843 (according to pencil annotation on the rear).Artists and Engravers: Artist and engraver unknown.
Condition: Very good given age. Two vertical folds, as issued. Top margin browned, bottom margin dampstained. A damage to the middle of the image, repaired & backed with acid-free archival tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
