Rudolphus IIII – This scarce original antique print depicts a portrait of Rudolf IV der Stifter (“the Founder”) (1339 – 1365), a scion of the House of Habsburg and Duke (self-proclaimed Archduke) of Austria and Duke of Styria and Carinthia from 1358, as well as Count of Tyrol from 1363 and first Duke of Carniola from 1364 until his death. From: ‘Tirolensium principum comitum Contrafacturen’ by Wolfgang Kilian, published in Augsburg 1623.

Made by Wolfgang Kilian after an anonymous artist. Wolfgang Kilian (1581–1662) was a German engraver and member of the Kilian family of engravers in Augsburg. He was the son of Bartholomaus Kilian the elder and Maria Pfeiffelmann. After his father’s death in 1583 his mother remarried Dominicus Custos and he and his brother Lucas became his pupils.
