Made by Pieter Gerardus van Os after Jacob Isaaksz. van Ruisdael. Pieter Gerardus van Os (1776-1830) was a Dutch painter who started with miniature portrets. Later he painted mainly landscapes often with cattle. Jakob Isaakszoon van Ruisdael (c. 1629-1682) was a Dutch painter, draughtsman, and etcher. He is generally considered the pre-eminent landscape painter of the Dutch Golden Age, a period of great wealth and cultural achievement when Dutch painting became highly popular.
