Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: pot, eagle, coat of arms with tower.
Sheet size: 83,3 x 16 cm. (32,8 x 6,3 inch). Image size: 82,5 x 15,5 cm. (32,5 x 6,1 inch).

From: ‘Const-Thoonende Iuweel […]’, by Zacharias Heyns, published in Zwolle, 1607. In this work the 1606 Haarlem Rhetorician meeting.

Made by an anonymous engraver after Zacharias Heyns. Zacharias Heyns (c.1566-c.1638) was a Flemish publisher, bookseller and author of poetry and proze. He was active in Antwerp and from c.1592 in Amsterdam and from 1606 Zwolle, where he became the provincial printer.

Condition: Good, given age. Some creasing. Original folding. Sheets attached. Stain. Right and left bottom margin with margin added. Some paper loss at connection 2 right sections, backed, not effecting images. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
