Biography engraver: Engraved by R. Parr after A. Cooper. Abraham Cooper (1787-1868) was an English animal and battle painter. He was introduced to the Sporting Magazine by Benjamin Marshall, after Abraham taught himself painting after feeling the wish to possess a portrait of a favourite horse.
