Ritter, published in Leiden, The Netherlands 1855. This is the rare first original hand coloured edition. One of the best-illustrated works on Java and the Javanese of the 19th-century. The plates were printed by Lemercier in Paris. Ref: Bastin and Brommer, 301; Haks and Maris, p. 112; Landwehr, 301
