From “l’Eloge de la Folie” by Erasmus of Rotterdam, in an edition of this work published by Francois L’honore in Amsterdam in 1728, with a translation by Gueudeville.Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Hans Holbein the Younger’. Hans Holbein the Younger (ca. 1497-1543) was a reknown German artist. Hed was active as court artist at the English court. He made many portraits, but also designed jewelry and book illustrations. Author: Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus (1466-1536), known as Erasmus or Erasmus of Rotterdam, who was a Dutch Renaissance humanist, Catholic priest, social critic, teacher, and theologian.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins a little cropped. Some scattered small stains. Occasional small damages to the margin edge (from binding, mostly). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
