Antique print, untitled. Two fools playing dice. From “l’Eloge de la Folie” by Erasmus of Rotterdam, in an edition of this work published by Francois L’honore in Amsterdam in 1728, with a translation by Gueudeville.Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Hans Holbein the Younger’. Hans Holbein the Younger (ca. 1497-1543) was a reknown German artist. Hed was active as court artist at the English court. He made many portraits, but also designed jewelry and book illustrations. Author: Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus (1466-1536), known as Erasmus or Erasmus of Rotterdam, who was a Dutch Renaissance humanist, Catholic priest, social critic, teacher, and theologian.

Condition: Good, given age. Margins a little cropped. Some scattered small stains. Occasional small damages to the margin edge (from binding, mostly). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
