Biography engraver: Pierre Roch Vigneron (1789-1872) was a French artist known for his portraits of historical figures. Some of his notable works include lithographs of Galen and Averroes. These works are part of the Wellcome Collection and are referenced in R. Burgess’s “Portraits of Doctors & Scientists in the Wellcome Institute”. His lithographs are appreciated for their detailed and accurate portrayal of the subjects.
Biography artist: Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun (1755-1842), also known as Louise ?lisabeth Vigee Le Brun or simply as Madame Le Brun, was a French painter who mostly specialized in portrait painting, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
