Biography engraver: Jacobus Buys (19 November 1724 – 7 April 1801) was a Dutch painter and engraver. He was born in Amsterdam, the son of a wig-maker. He studied under Cornelis Pronk, Jacob de Wit, and Cornelis Troost.
Biography artist: Cornelis Bogerts (1745-1817) was a Dutch draughtsman, engraver, etcher, and lithographer. He was born in 1745 in Velsen and died on February 3, 1817, in Amsterdam. His work location was Amsterdam from 1771 to 1817. He was part of Rein Vinkeles & C. Bogerts. His works are in the collection of several museums including Stadsarchief Rotterdam, Museum Elburg, Stedelijk Museum Zutphen, Nationaal Orgelmuseum, National Museum Paleis het Loo, and Museum De Lakenhal.
Reinier Vinkeles (1741-1816) was a Dutch draughtsman, illustrator, and engraver. He was born on June 19, 1741, in Amsterdam and died there on January 30, 1816. He began as a student of Jan Punt and joined the Amsterdam Stadstekenacademie (City Drawing School) in 1762. In 1770, he left for Paris, where he studied for a year with Jacques-Philippe Le Bas and met Dutch artists Hermanus Numan and Izaak Jansz de Wit. When he returned to Amsterdam, he worked making prints for book illustrations, including portraits, topographical and architectural prints, copies after Dutch masters, and theatre sets. His work is found in the collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
