This attractive print was sold by Claude du Bosc in Charles Street, Covent Garden London in 1760.

Made by ‘Antoine Watteau ‘ after own design. Antoine Watteau (1684-1721)was a French artist who during his short career invented the genre of the ‘fete galante’, and whose work was widely collected in England in the generation after his death.

Condition: Good, given age. Diagonal folds. Hole of burning and two small wormholes. Lower left and right corner creases. Brown spots and remains of glue on reverse. Trimmed to image; into image at bottom. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
