Antique print, titled: ‘Agger Oosterhautanae planicici impositus …’ – This map shows it shows the shapes of various fortifications, a wall and a moat/ditch near the town of Oosterhout and the Fortress Beauvoxiano (Bavel?). This print originates from the 1629 latin ed. of Herman Hugo’s ‘Obsidis Bredana, sub Ambrosio Spinola’, first published in Antwerp in 1626. English ed. in 1627. This is an eye-witness account of the ten-month siege of the fortress of Breda in 1625 by Spanish forces led by Spinola.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous.

Condition: Very good, given age. A few small stains. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
