Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Reinier Johannes Hoowy ‘. Reinier Johannes Hoowy (1905 – 1973) was the son of artist Abe Hendrikus Hoowy (1886-1939). See Scheen’s schilders Lexicon. Reinier visited the Artacademie in The Hague, examinated in 1928. Member of Delver, the artists society in The Hague. Reinier Hoowy was engraver, watercolourist, painter and lithographer. R.J Hoowy and his father both lived on the same address in the Hague, Columbusstraat 249, until 1939. Reinier Hoowy worked in Brugge more often. His family owns a scetching book with drawings fom Brugge. Reinier Hoowy married on 6th. april 1939 with Grietje Slot and came to live in Twello. After finishing his education he became a dentist. During his life he participated in expositions of his work where he sold his work
Condition: Very good, given age. Small stains in right margin, remains of previous soiling in upper margin, creases in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
