Condition: good, given age. Light foxing. Light ghosting from previous matting. . General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Pancrace Bessa (1772-after 1834) was a French natural history artist, best known for his botanical illustrations. He was a student of Van Spaendonck alongside Redoute. Bessa’s favourite subjects were flowers and fruit, with the occasional digression to birds and mammals.
