Description
This print shows a view on the biblical city of Ninive or Nineveh. Nineveh nowadays is a ruined city in Iraq, located on the east bank of the Tigris River in the present-day city of Mosul. In addition to being the largest city, it was also the capital of Assyria from 703 to 612 BC. Nineveh was on the great trade route between Elam, Babylonia, the Assyrian Empire, and Anatolia. Nineveh was famous for its palaces, temples and hanging gardens build on terasses.

Condition: good, given age. Brownish margin. Wormholes in margin. Creases in margin. Fold in lower right corner. Two tears in left margin and middle restored. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
