Original antique print showing a portrait of Nicasius le Febure, a.k.a. Nicolas le Febure or Nicasius le Fevre or Nicolas le Fevre (1615 – 1669), a French chemist and alchemist who was appointed to positions by both French and English royalty.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Published in France c. 1680.
Biography engraver: Nicolas de Larmessin III, le jeune (c.1640-1725) worked as a professional engraver together with his brother Nicolas de Larmessin II, the elder (c.1638-1694), who had a son, Nicolas Larmessin IV (1684-1755), who was an engraver as well. Their work is often confused, but they were all excellent engravers.
