Part Entomology. Plate XII, order Coleoptera titled: Genus Byrrhus, g. Anthrenus, g. Cistela, g. Silpha, g. Melyris. It shows: 1. B. pilula, 2. A. schrophulariae, 3. C. pallida, 4. C. laeta, 5. C. lepturoides, 6. S. germanica, 7. S. vespillo, 8. S. thoracica, 9. S. humator, 10. S. obscura, 11. S. quadrimaculata, 12. S. sinuata, 13. M. viridis (N.B. Cistla is a Fabrician genus & anstwers to the Cryptocephalus of Linnaeus). This original antique print originates from Rees’ ‘The Cyclopaedia. or, Universal Dictionary opf Arts, Sciences and Literature’. This important 19th-century encyclopedic work was published in serialized form from 1802 to 1820.
