Part Ichthyology. Plate V, order Abdominales titled: Genus Silurus, g. Loricaria, g. Coritis, g. Anablep[s], g. Platystach[us]. It shows: 1. S. Clarias, 2. L. Costalis (Bibbed L.), 3. L. Flava (Yellow L.), 4. C. Fossilis (Gr. Loche), 5. A. Tetrophtha[�] (Four-Eyed [�], 6. P. Anguiliaris (Eel-Shaped P.). This original antique print originates from Rees’ ‘The Cyclopaedia. or, Universal Dictionary opf Arts, Sciences and Literature’. This important 19th-century encyclopedic work was published in serialized form from 1802 to 1820. The entire Cyclopaedia consisted of 39 volumes of text, 5 volumes of plates and an atlas.Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Milton after Sydenham Teast Edwards.

Condition: Good, given age, right margin cropped tight with loss of text. General age-related toning and mild foxing. Please study scan carefully.
