Description
This print shows the entry of the French, during the French revolution, into Naples at the installation of the Council of State in Petit-Luxembourg. Coup d’Etat of 28-30 Prairial, year of French Revolution VII (June 16-18, 1799), Councils ask directors Merlin and La Revelliere to resign, in the ministers’ room, Luxembourg Palace.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive print was published ca 1800. From: Tafereelen van de Staatsomwenteling in Frankrijk (1794-1807).
Biography engraver: Reinier Vinkeles (Amsterdam; 1741-1816), was an 18th-century painter and engraver from the Northern Netherlands, who was the later teacher of several talented artists. He studied for some ten years with Jan Punt and joined the Amsterdam Stadstekenacademie. Daniel Vrijdag (Dutch 1765-1822).
