Antique print, titled: ‘Gezicht van den Berg Libanum en zyne Cederen’ – (‘View of Mount Lebanon and its Cedars’). The Cedar trees on Mount Lebanon, Cedrus libani, with several figures in the foreground. From the 5th volume of “Hedendaagsche Historie of Tegenwoordige Staat van Alle Volkeren” (Tirion, 1733).Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘J.C. Philips’ after an anonymous artist. Jan Caspar Philips (1690-1775) was a Dutch engraver. He was born in Germany but settled in Amsterdam, where he taught Caspar Philips and Simon Fokke. He contributed engravings to Wagenaar’s ‘Hedendaagse Historie’ and De Wit’s ‘Doopsgezinde Leeraaren’.
Condition: Very good. Original middle fold, as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
