Sheet size: 22 x 32 cm. (8,7 x 12,6 inch). Image size: 18,5 x 25,5 cm. (7,3 x 10 inch).

From: ‘Beschrijving hoedanig de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Troepen […]’, by J.F. Teupken, published in The Hague and Amsterdam by Gebr. Van Cleef, 1823. A supplement titled ‘Kleeding en Wapenrusting […]’ was published in 1826. Ref: Lipperheide 2255-2256; Colas 2864; Landwehr 455. Scarse.

Made by ‘Joh. Bemme’ after ‘B. van Hove’. Johannes Adriaansz. Bemme (1775-1841) was a Dutch designer and etcher active in Rotterdam. He was also active in the very early years of the lithography. He was a student of his father, Hauck and D. Langendijk. Bartholomeus-Johannes van Hove (1790-1880) was a Dutch architecture and genre painter from The Hague. He was a pupil of Broekenheymer. Condition: Good, given age. Light soiling near paper edges. Left paper edges a bit rough from binding. Very light creasing from handling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
