From: ‘Beschrijving hoedanig de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Troepen […]’, by J.F. Teupken, published in The Hague and Amsterdam by Gebr. Van Cleef, 1823-1826 (vol 2.). This plate orignates from the scarse vol. 2 titled ‘Kleeding en Wapenrusting […]’ published in 1826. Ref: Lipperheide 2255-2256; Colas 2864; Landwehr 455. Scarse.

Made by ‘J.C. Zurcher’ after ‘B. van Hove’. Bartholomeus-Johannes van Hove (1790-1880) was a Dutch architecture and genre painter from The Hague. He was a pupil of Broekenheymer. He became painter of the The Hague theatre. Author: Jan Federik Teupken

Condition: Good, given age. Light soiling near paper edges. Light staining. Left paper edges a bit rough from binding. Very light creasing from handling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
