This print shows a view of new Mexico in the 18th century. Taken from Montanus, showing the city after the lake had been drained after the terrible floods of 1621.

Biography engraver: Jakob van Schley (26 July 1715 ? 7 February 1779) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver. He studied under Bernard Picart (1673-1733) whose style he subsequently copied. .
