Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: Fragment Strassburg bend (& Lily?)..
Sheet size: 21 x 27 cm. (8,3 x 10,6 inch). Image size: 14,5 x 20,5 cm. (5,7 x 8,1 inch).

This attractive print was first published by Christoffel Plantijn in Antwerp in 1583. Based on the watermark this is probably a late 17th. c. ed.

Made by ‘Circle Wierix, Sadeler de Bruyn’ after ‘by or circle van Groeningen, de Vos or van den Borcht’.

Condition: Good, given age. Creases in lower right and left and upper right corner. Smudges in the edges and corners. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
