‘MARCUS AURELIUS CESAR’

– Plate 223: A rear-side view of the famous equestrian statue of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, showing him on horseback in a calm and authoritative pose, wearing a toga. The equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius is a rare surviving bronze from antiquity, mistakenly believed in the Middle Ages to depict Constantine, which helped preserve it.
