Made by ‘Raphael Morghen (Italian; 1758-1833)’ after ‘Raphael (Italian; 1483-1520)’. Raffaello Sanzio Morghen (Naples 1758-Florence 1833) was an Italian engraver. He was born in a family of German engravers, and initially trained by his father. He was apprenticed to Giovanni Volpato to further his training. He engraved portraits of Dante, Petrarch, Leonardo and Ariosto, as well as various mythological and biblical themes.
Condition: Good, given age. A few small tears in right paper edge and bottom right corner, not effecting image. Some rubbing at top right. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
